Yuri Ismaylov in Stranger Things
Love him or hate him, Stranger Things’ Yuri Ismaylov is an unforgettable season 4 character. Played by Serbian actor Nikola Djuricko, Yuri is hilarious, nutty, and chaotic. Yuri is selfish; he frustrates Hopper’s plans again and again. Any way you slice it, Yuri Ismaylov made Stranger Things season 4 a lot of fun to watch.
What did you think of Nikola Djuricko’s performance as Yuri Ismaylov? What else has Nikola Djuricko been in? You might be surprised!
In the Land of Blood and Honey
First of all, he played the role of Darko in “In the Land of Blood and Honey,” a film directed by Angelina Jolie about the Bosnian war. Actually, this film was Jolie’s directorial debut!
You may not have seen this film, as it was received lukewarmly, with a 57% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Here’s the movie trailer:
And here’s an interview with Nikola about acting in the film (I wasn’t able to embed the video, so you’ll have to follow the link):

Wait, wait: Yuri was in World War Z??
Surprise surprise! Have you heard of this one? That’s right, Nikola Ismaylov was in the Hollywood blockbuster zombie movie World War Z!
Not only that, but he played a pilot. Is he starting to get typecast? Yet you’ll notice he lacks Yuri’s nutty charm.

Nikola Djuricko on Bert Kreischer
If you want to learn more about Stranger Things’ Nikola Djuricko, he was recently on comedian Bert Kreischer’s podcast for about 90 minutes. Nikola is actually really funny in real life. He had Bert (and me) cracking up.
It’s a great episode full of laughs, insights, and personal anecdotes. For example, did you know Nikola’s father was a pilot? I guess playing a pilot on the screen was a natural choice for Nikola!
